Job Description
This multi disciplinary organisation is seeking a highly driven and experienced Associate Director to join their London team. The chosen candidate will be well versed within an Employers Agent role coming from a Quantity Surveying background.
This organisations sectors of operation include residential, commercial, arts & leisure, and education - with residential developments being their primary area of operation.

Responsibilities:
No two days will be the same but your general responsibilities will include:
Leading a team and managing the end-to-end development process for residential projects, from initial concept through to completion
Developing and communicating project objectives, strategies, and timelines to ensure alignment among internal teams, stakeholders and partners
Providing strong leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary professional teams, to ensure project milestones are met
Evaluating potential risks and opportunities, and advising on overall deliverability
Developing project programme from feasibility through to design, planning, and procurement; highlighting all relevant milestones and reviewing/reporting on these regularly
Facilitating design team meetings and managing the pre-construction phase
Ensuring the management of professional teams is in line with the scope undertaken, fee allocated and potential risk of scope creep
Management of design and professional team to develop design concept and plans
Formulating and managing an evolving risk register from inception to completion of the development
Identifying potential project risks and developing mitigation strategies to minimise disruptions and delays
Providing Employer's Agent and Contract Administration services across a variety of projects from inception to completion
Preparing, regulating, and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
Experience in various forms of procurement and contracts to be able to advise clients
Undertaking risk assessments
Assessing value for money
Administering JCT construction contracts and development agreements, including chairing meetings
Valuing work completed on-site and certifying payments
Assessing cost variations
Preparing cost reports and cash flows
Preparing and agreeing final accounts
Assessing and agreeing extension of time and loss and expense claims
Management of handover process in line with client-specific requirements and ensuring all regulating requirements / legislations are adhered to
Mentoring their Assistant Surveyors in delivering their scope of services and achieving their own professional career goals
Requirements

Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale residential development projects from inception to completion
Track record in delivering the Employer's Agent role
Confidence at client meetings
A team player approach and ability to work closely with clients and colleagues
MRICS (desirable)
Good communication and workload management skills
A methodical approach to tasks
Experience in JCT contracts and Development Agreements
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure
Strong technical knowledge of construction
A full, clean driving licence (Desirable)
