This organisation is a development company with their own main contracting division all under one roof. They are currently developing one of the area’s largest logistics parks and have further sites to develop with granted planning permission. In addition, they have various residential developments on going and up and coming in some great locations, these consist of large redevelopments and large new build sites. They have a current build programme of ten years and current turnover is circa £40m per year.
Job Description
This organisation are in need of a Commercial Manager to take charge of financial control of projects and a small team of Surveyors. This consists of procuring large packages and managing these accounts through to completion and preparing funding drawdowns. Examples of duties you’d be overseeing are listed below:
Preparation of tender packages
Procurement of tender packages
Negotiate and prepare sub contract agreements/contracts
Review and agree sub contractor interim payments
Review and conclude variations claims
Providing cost reports to Director level colleagues
Work collaboratively with other colleagues (Directors, Project Managers, Site Managers etc)
Assist with bank drawdown applications
It is the intention for the chosen individual to progress within the company to Director in the future.
Requirements
Experience in working autonomously on large sub-contractor packages such as groundworks, civils, steel frame & cladding or residential related packages
Confident in settling variations claims and disputes that may arise from this
Experience in large steel frame and cladding projects (or similar) and/or residential projects
Sound contract knowledge
Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar (desired but not essential)
