Job Description

This multi disciplinary consultancy are looking to appoint a Senior or Associate level Quantity Surveyor to work on various developer led new build & refurbishment projects as well as client occupied projects across the built environment. Sectors include student accommodation, residential, warehousing, retail & commercial.


This organisation has a ‘Freedom Working’ policy in place whereby employees manage their own workloads, clients, fees & invoicing and where you want to work (allowing for at least one office day per week). This freedom will allow you to manage your clients and projects in your own style of working with colleagues on hand to help and provide advice when needed.


Key Tasks & Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects

  • Preparing feasibility studies/development appraisals & cost plans

  • Analyse costs for maintenance and additional building needs

  • Preparation of tender documents (including schedule of works & BOQ’s)

  • Procurement of main contractors and sub contractors

  • Review architectural plans and prepare quantity needs

  • Prepare contracts and documents

  • Contract Administration (predominately JCT & Construction Management)

  • Set budgets for payments, inventory needs, and materials

  • Working alongside their Project Management team

  • Fund monitoring



Requirements

  • MRICS qualified Quantity Surveyor desirable but not essential

  • PQS experience

  • Experience in providing fund monitoring services would be beneficial but not essential

  • Detailed commercial and contractual knowledge

  • Comfortable preparing reports with excellent client presentation skills

  • Excellent risk management and analytical skills.
